Starlink Rental - FAQ & Instruction Guide

Welcome to your Starlink rental from Star Lend! Whether you're using it for a remote job site, vanlife adventure, camping trip, or temporary internet access, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get up and running. A copy of this guide is also included in your equipment case.

What's Included in Your Kit

· - Starlink dish (antenna)

· - Mount/base

· - Router

· - Starlink cable

· - AC power cable

· - Rugged Pelican storage case OR Backpack

Getting Started – Setup Instructions

· 1. Find a location with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky (no trees, buildings, or overhead wires).

· 2. Set the dish on the base and place it on level ground or a solid surface.

· 3. Connect the Starlink cable to the dish and the router (plugs only fit one way).

· 4. Plug the AC power cable into the router and into a wall outlet or generator.

· 5. Wait 2–3 minutes while the dish powers up and auto-aligns. It may rotate slightly—this is normal.

· 6. On your phone or computer, connect to the WiFi network called “STARLINK-XXXXXX”.

· 7. Open a browser and go to http://dishy.starlink.com to confirm setup and signal.

· 8. You’re now online! You can use it like any WiFi network.

WiFi Network Details

· - Network Name: Usually starts with 'STARLINK-'

· - Password: Provided on a label inside the case or on the bottom of the router

What Speeds Can I Expect?

· Download speeds typically range from 50–150 Mbps.

· Upload speeds are usually 10–20 Mbps.

· Ping (latency) is about 30–60ms.

· *Performance can vary based on location, weather, and obstructions.*

How to Put Starlink in Stow (Storage) Mode Before Packing

· 1. Plug in the system and wait for the dish to come online.

· 2. Open the Starlink app on your phone (or go to http://dishy.starlink.com).

· 3. Tap 'Settings' > 'Stow Starlink'.

· 4. Wait 30 seconds for the dish to collapse flat.

· 5. Once the dish is stowed, unplug the system and pack all components carefully back into the case.

· *Do not manually try to fold the dish—it will cause damage.*

Troubleshooting Tips

· - No signal? Make sure you’re in a clear-sky area with no obstructions.

· - No power? Check both ends of the power cable and try another outlet.

· - Can't find the WiFi? Give the system 3 minutes to boot, then restart your phone’s WiFi scan.

Your Responsibilities

· - Use the equipment with care and avoid exposing it to rain or extreme heat.

· - Do not disassemble or modify the hardware.

· - Return all components, including cables and case, in the same condition they were received.

· - Notify us of any damage, loss, or technical issues immediately.
